Nope. CD1 (Cycle Day 1) is the first day of full red flow.

If you are TTC and want to get to grips with your cycles i would highly recommend Fertility Friend. Read their charting basics slideshow on their home page and you will learn a ton!!

No, I asked my OB about this. She told me that's it's old blood left over from the previous cycle being cleared before your current cycle starts. You count from the first day of actual blood flow.

Also, not all cycles are 28 days, they can be shorter or longer.

No, you count the day of actual flow as day 1, not spotting
