Even as a guy, I admitt I still liked pop music in the late 90s and early 2000s. I really liked Nsyn and Backstreet Boys were alrite. But think about it, there is hardly any boy bands left today? They were so popular, and there were so many:

- BackStreet Boys
- Nsync
- Hanson Brothers
- Otown
- B44
- Aqua (they had one chick though)

etc...................

the recording industries changed, as trends rise and fall, the boy band will probably return in 20 or so odd years as a fad, i don't think it's that people "grew up", just because you did doesn't mean everyone else is the same age as you...but instead I think the identity associated with boy bands has fallen with the rise of Rap and even American Idol with more solo artists...

Hey, don't be dissing on BSB, I had good memories attached to them : P It's always hard to tell, I'm pretty sure all those hair metal bands didn't expect their hair dos to be embarrassing now. Well, anyway, I think the new wave of metal (not nu metal) will have more attention. I've been noticing more attention towards metal bands and well as the growing indie scene. If I can define the 00's musically, I think the two standouts will be metal and indie. Well, indie isn't exactly a genre but you get what I mean.... I doubt the mainstream bands today will get much recognizing in the future, with the exception of Radiohead, Muse, Tool, White Stripes etc. But honestly, unless FOB really turn it around and do learn to play their instruments and do something original, I doubt they will be more than anything but the next N'Sync. Pop has a new face I guess. BTW Good Morning :0 )

Give it 3-5 more years, there will be another boy band (assuming there are still record labels). Boy bands have come and gone in waves since the monkees. They need a cool-down period while they wait for the next crop of pre-teen girls.

1st of all....consider the fact that you're gay.

2nd if you are still calling thing the bomb maybe you should still be listening to boy bands.

3rd....the 13 year old girls that were the target audience for those bands outgrew them. And the new crop of 13 year old girls got hooked on something else. Simple as that.

Because trends change and people move on. Boy bands go through phases of being popular and then not being popular; but eventually it all comes back around...

Just like slang words like "da bomb", they've had their 15 minutes of popularity (and fame).
