Like one looking at a bakery shelf with hunger and can not afford the treats SE Hinton brings the flavors and smells of the conflict of Ponyboy to your mind as clearly as if it were happening today.
Just a thought. Look at the conflicts the imagery and the richness used to create the story - it has many powerful images to draw on . Good Luck!
