I live alone and have three computers. The computers queue for me.
I like the Sony Viao line of computers quite a lot since they are rock solid, have very little extra crap software (a la Dell and HP), and have a great support web site. You can get a low end Sony or a really decked one based on your needs.
HP and Compaq are fine if you are just wanting to web surf, but I hate all the extra bloat software they load for no reason.

It is very funny you should ask that! I just sat down after being in line for a computer. I am at the public library, using one of their computers as my hard drive took a dump night before last! I won't have it back until Friday! So, yes indeed, I have had to queue up to use a computer and will have to for the next few days. I will think of you while I am in line, Father!

When everyone is at the house, I'm ashamed to say that we fight like cats and dogs to get on line. Some go to MySpace, others come here...but each of us is 'gluttonous' regarding computer usage.
You would probably want to check out your local newspapers regarding lap tops. At this time of year, there are a lot of sales and special offers. It's almost Christmas! :)

I used to queue up until i thought...Whose paying for the fecking thing??!!
Now the rest of the family have to make do with paper and crayons while I enjoy the latest technology!

get a nintendo wii or something if it's just surfing ya wanna do ;-)
or even an i-touch (without the phone)..

then come home, with the model numbers.. go into pricerunner.co.uk and find simular ones cheaper elsewhere =)

Not often. I just bought the cheapest laptop I could at pc world.
Apart from the initial language being in Faroese it's been ok so far. Compaq Presario.

I used to....but now I have my own in my room....things seem to work better this way. As for a good lap top, I really don't think I would know....lol

There is four of us and we have 2 laptops.
and we fight over them all the time.
I'm additced to the net so its kinda hard
giving up the laptop when your in the middle of something.
I have got a Sony Viao . (i think thats how you spell it) .
and there good.
