You have to do the Zammarok mage miniquest . You start it by talking to the mage northeast of edgeville in the wilderness. When you complete his task he'll give you the small pouch & access to the abyss. Afterwords you can go into the abyss ( beware , you will be skilled & your prayer drained ) to kill the creatures there. they drop runes, essence & the other size pouches. You can only have one of each size pouch & they aren't tradable. As you use them your pouches will degrade & you'll have to bring them back to the mage in the center of the abyss to repair them. The abyss also has portals to all the known runecrafing alters which can make crafting laws, deaths & nats quick if you can risk the pkers & abyssal critters.
