there is an old wives tale that states if you have water in your yard, the dog will assume the water is for him, and then choose not to deficate where it drinks.

apparently anything water will deter dogs from leaving any deposits.

So... water in a bottle sitting on the lawn. Water in a small dish. water in the garden. water bird path.

best of luck i know how annoying it is!

Ammonia is what urine is made from so it is NOT a deterrent.
Moth Flakes, are pretty good, but there are products you can but in the store that might work better.
Including a sprinkler system that is motion activated and soaks the dog every time it comes into your yard.

Try the Crossman 760 with 6 pumps. Aim for the little dark spot underneath the tail. : )

get rid of the dog by calling the local animal control officer. they will catch it and put it in a shelter
