Rap music is the best music that's ever been played on this planet. :-)
Quite simply, those who don't "hear music" in rap, have not right to call themselves critiques of music. Ha!! Creativity is the key word here...
Back when Rock and Roll first started, the narrow-minded people didn't consider it music either, until some little hillbilly named Presley became famous for cashing in on "black music".

Love it and for all you idiots who say it's nonsense and inappropriate, you could say that about any kind of music. It depends on what the song is about and the lyrics. Don't be so damn stupid and close minded. I could say I hate country, techno, rock, opera and/or oldies music just cause I heard one bad song that I felt used inapropriate language, but how ignorant would that sound. I guess I'd sound just as ignorant as half of the people who answered this question.
P.S. For all of you who say rap isn't music...FYI: there was a time when people said rock wasn't music.

Well I'm more of a rock type guy. When all my friends started falling into the Rap mosh pit I stood my ground. Yes the dances to some of them are cool but hearing about some dudes life isn't in my interest. Also as other people put it you can't spell crap without rap.

Too general of a question today. Three are multiple sub categories and genres under the rap umbrella. As for me, I like the older stuff of my generation such as Too $hort E-40, KRS 1, Grandmaster Flash, RUN-DMC etc etc etc...

I like rap music, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but sh*t I heard country music and rock music songs that were both degrading to women.
