I would like to know if I can get extra ram by having an additon added to my computer, I do not know the term for it but I have heard that I can buy something to hook up to the exterior of my computer and get more ram with it, its kinda like an extra C drive the way I understand it,, But I need to ask how would this be hooked up to my computer as well as how it would help my computer store more data?
If anyone could give me some insight about it I would appreciate it very much, I am pretty good with the computer but illiterate to this type of stuff,

This should cover what you need--you're looking for the "ReadyBoost" where you stick in a USB key to help swapping performance. But you really need to max out the system RAM (3.5GB in XP and far more in Vista 64).

Sounds like what you are talking about an external harddrive. This will add space to store your programs and in my case huge MP4 collection, but it will not add Ram. To do that you need to add Ram to your motherboard. External Harddrives are usually add by using a USB 2.0 slot.

Nope. You/re thinking of Ramboost which really is just adding extra hard drive space for swap space. You're better off buying more REAL RAM.
