I'm trying to get more insight into the daily routine of a contractor in the construction business.

Can you tell me, as a contractor, what your day looks like. From the moment you wake up to the time you go to bed.

What do you do and when? Who are the people you interact with in your work. How do you communicate? How often?

What are your challenges?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

usually start work very early, often picking up supplies for the day. if it's raining, you can't work and don't get paid. if it's snowing you can't work and don't get paid. go to the jobsite (and it changes frequently) and work, could be any stage of the contstruction, you might be pouring concrete or up on the roof or whatever.
if the weather's good you might work long days to make up for the times it was raining. worry about where the next job is coming from. worry about whether the quality of work and materials that are being used are adequate. worry about safety. try not to get hurt or fall. worry about others not working as hard as you. run out of supplies (like nails or whatever).
