I have a Sony Vaio laptop. i also have a Dell Computer connected to a Lexmark printer downstairs and a Time Computer connected to another Lexmark printer. The Lexmark computer downstairs has an internet rooter (Some people say you need a rooter to connect, but I dont know if it needs to be an internet rooter or printer roooter) It says i have a Microsoft XPS document write in the control panel but when I print nothing happens. I then went to the control panel again and clicked 'Add a Printer'. Then it says add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer. I clicked that as I cant connect a USB to any printer.

It then said 'searching for available printers' for about 5 minutes and said 'no printers were found. it then had a link saying 'The printer I wanted is not listed. i then clicked on that and the following options came up...
Browse for a printer
Select a shared printer by name
Add a printer using a TCP/ IP address or hostname

Does any1 no how find the info for the above?

I hope someone can give you a solution to your dilemma.

From what I am reading you do need a printer adapter to make it wireless and all the ones I saw are all connected by USB, so your printers are obsolete for wireless printing

You need to share the printer on the system where it's connected. Next, you need to activate file and printer sharing on both systems. Next, add a new printer and the remote printer should appear--if not enter the name of the share printer like \\theothersystem\ThePrinterName.
