I like the digital photo album idea (probably because it is similar to mine)! I'm probably old school, but I was thinking about an album/scrapbook idea where you could put in a bunch of photos, poems/writings, cards...anything you can think of that this person may be into such as jokes, religious things such as prayers, you could include a favorite magazine or book. I would also suggest that you ask their friends and family to participate (let them include a letter, note or card for the album). I think the support and love from people would be the best gift so if you can somehow gather various things to show support, make them laugh, etc. This is something they would have forever and would remember that you did this for them. I'm not sure what you can or can't have in the facility but a similar idea is a care package. Include cookies, brownies, cards, letters, something to make them laugh, maybe a cd, a magazine...)

I also agree with person that said you are a super person for wanting to do this and support this person. Good luck!

A friend of mine, his dad was in the hospital for a few weeks and he got him this digital photo frame. Kept his dad in good spirits and he was telling the nurses about all the people in the pictures. O, you know digital photo frame, you can put in tons of digital phptos - digital photos I mean, and they just rotate through right? Here's where I saw one in action: http://www.joyremembered.com/digital-photo-frame/38/

Good luck. Come to think of it, the nicest gift he got is your thinking about him, that's a nice gift you already gave him.
