Actually what is really astounding is the entire Gallup Poll . In each and every category , Liberals rated themselves as having lower self-esteem and lesser mental health than Conservatives .
And as far as the song goes. . . . please get a life people . It's only a song. . . and a very popular one at that .

You know why Conservatives decimate Liberals in mental health ratings? Because Liberals can only live so long in a fantasy world, and once the carefully-crafted illusions they have built over a lifetime come crashing down, their minds can't reconcile the huge chasm between reality and their imaginary world.

Then, just like a malfunctioning pinball machine, their mind screams out, TILT !!!

It starts in school when the Liberal teachers tell little Tommy or Sally that they're doing just fine, making great progress. The reality is, they are not, but the teachers are too scared to hurt their tender self-esteem.

Then these future Liberals are indoctrinated in college, where they talk big talk about how they are going to change the world, when in fact they aren't even well equipped to survive in the real world. That "Communications" major they so smugly glided through prepares them for nothing substantive.

They're headed for life at Kinkos or Mc Donalds.

The reason Libs want so desperately to help the lazy, the sexually perverted, or the perenially discontented has to do with a simple observation about human psychology.

Why are drug addicts notorious for trying to get everyone hooked like they are? Their feelings of inadequacy and deep-seated disgust for their own behavior compels them to try and get everyone around them to use drugs too, so they don't feel so singled out. If everyone seems to be taking drugs, then their conscience doesn't bother them so much. It's a lot like when you go out to dinner, but no one wants to be the only one to have dessert. They have feelings of guilt for over-eating.

In the Liberal mind, all these feelings of self-loathing prey upon their subconscious, so they instinctively begin to defend the most indefensible behaviors as "normal". If everyone considers NAMBLA perverts to be just another lifestyle, or unwed mothers to be a natural expense that everyone should pay for, then the Liberal gets to feel much better about himself. By comparison, he's no worse than everyone else.

See? It's really quite simple. That's how the Liberal mind works.

Liberals often suffer from a feeling of self-loathing, just like when you hear the immature rants of a damaged psyche such as Al Franken. Why do you think so many comedianes are Liberals? It's due to feelings of inadequacy. They use humor to mask their pain. Same for actors. They don't feel their real self measures up, so they like living in a fantasy world where they can be anything they want to be.

Now, I'm not going to parrot Michael Savage who said Liberalism is a mental disorder, but....

Earnest you astound me, but then you always have. You ask that question, like you care, when in reality you are implying republicans are once again superior to liberals, even in their mental health. You then post words to a song that's rather insulting to "ugly" women only to end by wishing people a Merry Christmas. SON, something is wrong, here.
38% is next to 3 out of 8(371/2%) and by the answers I have read, the percentages should be more like 16 2/3 percent, AT BEST!!!
38 % indeed, thats like saying 2+2 = 6 !!!!
My 4 year old grand daughter knows better than that .
But then too, "he who pays for the poll, gets the answer he wants".

Because conservatives are overly sure of themselves and are more apt to deny problems.

I am NOT putting you in the same category as a bunch of elite conservative dandies, but that is the reason for the poll results as I can see.

I am an optimistic, happy, loveable, and cute. I am as healthy mentally as I can be, and very content with my life.

I work out 7 days a week, which is a boost both mentally and physically. I am into healthy eating. I don't drink or smoke.

Personally, I like humans and I like being human. I like the word humanity too. It makes me feel like I have a home on this planet and that I'm grounded. Especially like the humans who are brave enough to admit their vulnerabilities. They are the ones who are the most interesting to be with. The ones who think they have all the answers and are perfect are the ones that bore me to death. You know, the macho, the GOP, the arrogant ones who think their sh*t doesn't stink and who think they have all the answers and want you to do what they tell you to do. Yeah, those are the ones I can't stand being around. They have absolutely nothing to offer.
