Jonathan and I have been together for nearly 16 years. There was never a time when either of us attempted to control the other or attempted to limit their life.
Granted most of our friends are straight males -- but that's because our primary interest outside of work and politics is our hobby (tabletop RPGs) which we have both played since we were teenagers, and through which we met each other.
Yes, I would leave them alone together without a second thought -- furthermore, I would worry about anyone who wouldn't -- that level of control is not healthy.
Kind regards,
Reyn

Yes I would. My husband is quite the flirt (well....I can be, too!)...but we both know where our hearts lie, who we truly love. Yes- we're secure enough in our own relationship that we don't worry when someone's doing a little flirting. (So secure we just end up rolling our eyes at the other...and then have a good laugh)

Yep. My gorgeous lover has been mine for the last 27 years and my flirtacious good friend knows I will rip his arm out of his socket and beat him to death with the bloody stump of it... whoops, sorry, my temper got away with me. I mean, I will graciously show him the door..... and kick him down the icy stairs..... I mean show him to the curb and call him a taxi.... and have him taken to the wharf and sunk in cement overshoes... (I really must stop this....)
Ohhhh... You meant serious answers..... I was. (evil otter grin)

Yes I'd allow them to meet and yes I'd trust them doing next to nothing with each other, seeing as the boyfriend of my choice would be into ME, not my horn-dog friend.
Did that help??

Yeah. I trust my gf, and I trust my friends. Why bother being friends or lovers with someone you can't trust?

Do I trust my lover and/or my friend? If not then maybe they shouldn't be my lover or my friend in the first place.
