No. I don't even know if I like it myself cause I've never had it but I'd be willing to try. Fruitcake just has a bad rep for some reason. However, I have had this italian panetone (sp?) crap that we got from the CEO every year for Christmas at one of my previous jobs & YUCK that stuff is beyond disgusting. Strangely my Dad liked it though so I always gave it to him. LOL!

My father used to make a lot of fruit cake from scratch and give it away. It became the tradition every Christmas. Everybody loves it. I regret that I did not learn from him. Hey, learn everything you can from your parent while they are alive. We all missed him dearly and his fresh bake fruitcake. Thank you for reminding me of our good time. Happy Holiday to you!

I do, but only if its made right. Anything from the store is usually crap.
I also like plum pudding, but maybe thats because it's soaked in brandy and you set it on fire...
Oh, and "C", thats a great message. My Mom makes a variety of traditional cookies that aren't in any recipe book anywhere - at least not how she makes them. I promise myself to learn them.

Yes, I have a co-worker that makes hers every year. Soaks it for a week in some wine or something. Could have potential I guess.

That's funny, I've asked myself that too, I guess they must, when I liked in the UK people would offer it with tea, but I can't stand it!
