I was driving home late last night (I work the night shift). All of the suden I drive drive pass a smoky area with a plow truck. I thought it was a burnt clutch. There was 2 men on the side of the road. One was waving franticly I thought he was yell at the other one. So I drove past, think ever thing was fine.

What really happened was the man's house was on fire and the plow truck stoped to help and he was waving at me probly for some help. the man went back in his house to save some of his stuff and ended up dying.

I feel a like I could have done some thing. instead I drove by. My dad told me it is improtant as a woman to drive by if I see some thing bad just call 911 and drive by. Because people are killed every day by doing what they thought was the right thing.

well, i would not be to hard on yourself. you didn't start the fire and you didn't kill the person. you have no idea if your stopping would of done anything but to stand their and watch him get killed. he may have gone in the house no matter who was there. only people he may have listened to was a cop or fireman. anyone who would be considered an authority figure. keep that in mind.

also, being completely understandable to keep your own safety in mind. you don't know what was happening and very may well have been a con to get a woman alone. you never know these days. take to heart, wasn't your fault or doing.

Yes at paintings and if there's some thing i will be able to do. I might think humiliated if others at paintings or in a few assignment might believe that i am regularly warding off paintings and simply being lazy. I have two ways to this: Either i'm a whole workaholic and that i deal with the whole thing i simply am cabable of or then i simply stop the entire task or i on no account take delivery of that mission. It's a hundred and ten% or not anything. I do not get that after persons have dare to learn newspapers, surf on-line and chat for one million hour at paintings or every other assignment. If i am in main issue wherein i've nohing to do i think responsible and that i regularly provide an explanation for myself to others, even if i relatively do not ought to!

You absolutely did the right thing. No need to feel guilty. I live in a small town where I know most of the people and I still would have been cautious. Maybe should have called 911 to make sure it had been reported but there is nothing more you could have done.

I mean, I probably would have done the same thing. I'm very cautious and if there was a man on the side of the road where not many people are, I wouldn't stop for fear he might rape me or something. That happens to so many women who try to be helpful, so It's better to be safe than sorry.

but as for what actually happened... that's horrible, but it's not your fault and I don't think you should feel bad. You thought you were doing the right thing, so don't blame yourself.
Just think, what if that was a rapist and you had stopped?

You were very smart not to stop. It would be a good idea to call 911. Since everyone has a cell phone now a days, why didn't the plow truck guy have one? That is just TOO suspicious. There are too many people out there that are scheming to harm someone.

I would feel guilty too BUT, today we women DO have to be careful! Your Dad is right! You did the right thing but you should have called 911. You stopping might NOT have changed the fact that the man died. Whether you stopped or not I'm sure the man still would have went back into his house which is something HE should have known was the wrong thing to do.

don't feel guilty. Women are preyed upon every day and we constantly get emails telling us not to do this, watch for that etc. You did the right thing by not stopping. And I would assume anyone with a plow truck would have a cell phone with them. That seems logical.

I'm sorry that you had to experience that.

Did you call 911? If so, that's all you really could do. You would not have been able to put out the fire yourself.

Your dad only has your best interest at heart; my husband also tells me similar things about staying in my car at night.

As for God's forgiveness, and he will give it to you.

Well i don't think you can blame yourself if you did not know the situation at the time. You said that you thought it was a burnt clutch and in that case you probarbly wouldnt stop unless you have a vast mechanical knowledge. Just make sure you give a statement if you feel it would make you feel better

I agree with your father maybe next time call 911 but you are better being safe than sorry. It was night time and you were alone a prime time for someone to set you up. Don't be too hard on yourself, everything happens for a reason.
