Most soldiers during the first world war were transported by rail to within 10 miles of the front and then marched the last stage to the front. Towards the end of the conflict the use of vehicles had grown so that by the time of the second world war most soldiers were moved by lorry.

Marched. Bicycle and by horseback in some case. Although calvary was pretty much found to be useless what with the advent of modern weapons.
Some went to the front in trucks but most everything was on foot for the most part.

Don't forget, the battlelines didn't shift much during the trench war.

Mostly infantry men pretty much marched everywhere. They did have some trucks and the first tanks were developed to move infantry men through heavily fortified areas but for the most part they marched everywhere.

Boats, Trains to some extent; marched for the most part.

Initially, some cavalry units.

In the defense of Paris, when the Germans got to where they were stopped; the troops were brought by Paris' cabs to the front.

They marched. They would also use early jeeps to help move some around.
