After reading an email someone sent out the other day, I jumped the gun and said that a certain person caused my computer trouble by sending me a horrible virus. The timing of the email and when I started getting computer trouble was dead on.
It turns out that the problems I had were a corrupt file on my hard drive and my memory card came lose on my laptop. No viruses but the symptoms were the same.
I would like to apologize to Freeman and declare Peachie to be a lunatic.

Apologise is the British variant of apologize. Grammatically both are correct. It solely depends on your country of residency. It's quite sad that you were criticized because both forms are absolutely acceptable.

As much as I would like to go along with dingberry's answer, I must refrain, and offer this simple suggestion.
bat your eyes a few times to them and simply say:
"forgive me, for I have made a horrible mistake. I don't know how to apologize to you enough. Could you please forgive me and rest assured that I have learned from this mistake?"
