He ridiculed Marshareff about being President AND being in control of the military about a month ago...But isn't that exactly what HE is? With the passage of the "Patriot" act, Military Commissions Act of 2006, and the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2007, at a drop of a hat Bush could declare Marshall law for ANY reason.

Gus...I think a lot of us like our freedoms and don't want to live in fear. Our freedoms are much more important than being scared of shadows.
The story of the "Boy, who cried, Wolf, one too many times" comes to mind.

Eric...that is a bold face lie! The FACTS are that the generals didn't have near as many men going into there than they needed...Remember Rummy saying that you "Fight with the Army that you have, not the one that you want" Well, the Generals kept telling people left and right that they needed more soldiers over there, and they were ignored.

RJ...True..I guess I would tend to agree with you.
JCA...Have you READ the acts that I stated? The acts were written in such a way that the "laws" couldn't be seen in a court of law. Yes, the "Patriot" act is written so they could arrest someone (ANYONE) that they deemed a "terrorist" do whatever they wanted to that person and that person can NOT fight it in a court of law. This includes AMERICAN CITIZENS. All that needs to happen is that the "President" doesn't like you and wants you to disappear.

YES, Bush IS a hypocrit, among many other things.
JCA, this is for you. You claim that Martial Law cannot be claimed by the President for any reason he wants. This is from the NDAA, which was recently passed by Congress, giving the President just such powers. Below is the exact section, including the link

Just just like the entire Katrina factor was once blown method out of hand humans had been announcing that Bush made Katrina hit New Orleans come on humans I continue to exist the Gulf once they exhibit a projected direction I'm on it competent to move. And as for nine/eleven Bush stated this was once now not going to be an out and in factor it'll be an extended approach. So I have supported him via all of it And nonetheless do.

W.B. Yeats: "The best lack all conviction, while the worst are filled with passionate intensity."
It's about the only solace in the face of Bush, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Rove and Co. Yeats wrote those words almost 100 years ago, and the world rebounded into sanity before tumbling down the hill into Animal Farm again. Sorry to mix references, but it's noteworthy that both works issued from the same era -- and Yeats' quote does at least go some way to explain why, in the face of such bald-faced lunacy, no reasonable opposition has presented itself.
Answering your question directly: Bush isn't even genuine
baloney.

No President Bush can not declare Marshall Law by any reason. Article II of the Constitution so states. The President of the United States has responsibilities and limited powers in all three jurisdictions of government (Executive, Legislative and Judicial) but his powers are checked by Congress (Legislative) and Judicial Branches. He can not DECLARE war without Congress' approval. He can not appoint judges without Congress' approval. That's the beauty of the good ole USA! We love life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness so much that we do not give any one branch the sole power or ability to cancel either one of those beautiful gifts we enjoy here in America. Always remember that and don't let anyone (street scholars) tell you otherwise. Read up on your Government. See the links below and spend a day or two. You'd be amazed at the beauty of our government. Even Cesar Chavez is having problems for trying to vest so much power in himself.

I don't know what the hell I am doing in this section, but we are all hypocrites. You're a hypocrite, I'm a hypocrite, Bush is a hypocrite. Look at what he did to Iraq. He completely destroyed it. Now you know fighting fire with fire does nothing. Now you know bush just put more gasoline in that fire. I don't lable people, but i will tell you that bush is the world's biggest threat. he is also greedy and selfish. just like any other person he cannot handle the power given to him.

First of all, he didn't "ridicule". Lets be accurate if you're going to criticize. The President is, and always has been Commander in Chief. Nothing has been done, or will be done, without Congresses approval. Comparing Pakistan with the US is, at best, apples and oranges.

Bush is too dumb to be a hypocrite. Moreover, he doesn't know the meaning of the word, nor its correct spelling. Just leave poor George alone, will ya! The man just wants to sit on his ranch and play with his baseball cards for Pete's sake!

If there is anyone studying how to be a hypocrite they need to look no farther than George W. Bush as the prime example. Along with him would be other key figures in his Administration and even supporters of Bush. Hypocrisy at its finest.
