He published the most detailed and accurate heliocentric model ever written. It was even more accurate at predicting the positions of the planets as seen in Earth's sky than the geocentric model of Copernicus. That is because Copernicus wrongly assumed the planets moved around the Sun at constant speed in perfect circles. It wasn't until Kepler showed they move at varying speeds in elliptical orbits the heliocentric model surpassed the geocentric model in accuracy for the purpose of predicting planet positions as seen in Earth's sky.
