Galileo merely pointed out that there were four moons rotating around Jupiter, thus the notion of the Earth as the center of the universe was wrong. For this he received the condemnation of the Inquisition, who silenced him. Recently Pope J. P. II said that Galileo was right and the Inquisition was wrong: too little, too late. This is a good example of why religion should stay out of science unless they are willing to be open minded.

Heliocentric (Helio = sun) view of the solar system, as opposed to a geocentric (Earth centered) model.
