I have read about this substance "glass wax" or "ice wax" on wikipedia but can't find information about it anywhere else. It is for a circus prop- I need to mould a sculpture out of something that looks like glass but that will not cut performers when it shatters. I could use sugar glass but it gets sticky and can warp in heat. Apparently ice wax is much more durable and long lasting, and is used in films, but I can't seem to find out how to make it or where to get hold of it. Does anyone know of it or have any ideas? Your help is much appreciated!

If you are searching the internet, try "breakaway glass"

This company sells stock and custom items, but does not seem to sell raw material, and in fact the web site doesn't say anything about the material, but it was at the top of the search results: http://www.alfonsosbreakawayglass.com/index.php

This site will probably be more useful: http://www.smooth-on.com/bond-smash.htm

Here is a site that uses the phrase "glass wax" but this is little information on the web site: http://www.bentleychemicals.co.uk/products_sa_sfx_scene.html

I you happen to be in Australia, you might take a look at this: http://www.barnesonline.com.au/InfoPages/infosmashit.htm while not a wax, it is a melt and pour product and it was listed under "waxes" on the website.

I could only find a site for the sugar one:

You might try other search combinations - I use Fake glass

you ought to constantly disgrace them off and make the hairs right into a Troll?.. you may make an exceedingly real looking one in case you probably did no longer bathe for some weeks first... then it may smell purely like one... Fookin' stinky bar stewards.
