I am part of a philosophy club and it seems that many of the other members are becomeing a bit fatigued with just sitting around and talking. Usually we end up in a sub group of twos and threes and I am trying to think of ways to keep the whole group engaged together. If you are in a philosophy club yourself I would love to hear what a typical meeting is like or philosophical activitys you have done.
I think we still have plenty of topics, but if you have a really interesting one you would like to share, I am open to ideas.

One thing you can do is rotate a person who goes out and researches a topic for presentation to the rest of the group at the next meeting. It doesn't have to be a HUGE research project, but it will promote a sense of duty on the part of the rest of the group to listen at least out of respect, but more so to edify themselves.

The presentation will be what officially kicks off the meeting. This makes everyone come together and get on the same mind set from the beginning.

Depending on the length of the presentation and the interest in the one making it, at some point the group will start to dissipate into smaller segments. The good thing is that it will do so in a more orderly fashion.

This activity also promotes more structured learning, as compared to a bunch of people just sitting around talking.

In terms of topics, I like the ones which anchor to the philosophical greats throughout history.
