So I applied for a local police officer position... well I passed the initial oral interview, the medical screening, the agilty test and during the agility test we got fitted for uniforms. Well the last step was an interview with the Police Chief.. well it was about 10 minutes long, the Chief spoke about the benefits, rookie school, what he expects from us, and also 4-5 people out of about 14 won't make it. He said he would call me by Saturday and let me know if I get a job offer.. After the interview we were sent back across the street where we were "fitted" for uniforms again, and also guys were calling us new recruits..

However, if we don't officially have the job yet, why were we being fitted for uniforms? And making it all the way to the Chief's interview? Do I have a shot at this or no?

They are fitting you for the uniforms so that if they offer you the job you will have one the day you start instead of offering you the job and then having you come in and get fitted. They are just saving time.

It sounds like you probably at least have made it to be admitted to the training. When he said 4-5 people out of 15 won't make it, he was probably talking about getting through the training.
