Medieval and Renaissance Christianity is far different than today's radical Islam. Science, art, literature, and culture came from Renaissance Christianity.

Both persecuted the Jews.

Both called anyone who tried to leave the fold or say something not according to the accepted dogma a heretic.

Both were quick on killing those seen as enemies of the faith.

At one time the Pope was like Muhammad and had the biggest Army in Europe.

"Their faith" was the only true faith and all the rest were infidels. (OK, same thing today.)

But Christianity matured and became more loving. Islam just keeps blowing up people and cutting off heads.
