The winner of his match with Jeff Hardy gets a shot at the WWE champ at the Royal Rumble. Jeff beat HHH once for the IC strap back in the days of the Power Trip, but I don't see history repeating itself.

In the past HHH has not wanted to help some stars get over. In fact there have been some wrestlers that were over with the fans and HHH didn't llike it and basicly did what he could to make the wrestlers look bad.
Now for once he wants to help Jeff Hardy and Umaga get to main event status. I see nothing wrong with him trying to help other for once. One of the main reasons I wasn't a HHH fan was because of his back stage politics. Now that he is trying to help a couple wrestlers move up I have respect for him.
He is an 11 time champion and shouldn't have the belt all the time. By the time he retires he will end up like a 20 time or more champion which I do not think should happen. I would prefer to see Ric Flairs 16 titles stay on top. I'm not saying HHH is bad or anything. But for me, since he is married to the bosses daughter, I don't think he should end up with more championships than Flair.
I got so sick of him always having the belt or wrestling in the main event to get it back that I stopped buying wwe ppvs. Its not just him. I think the WWE needs to stop letting the same person have the title for so long.
Orton has the title now and Jericho will have it at some point soon. Then instead of letting Orton win it back they should have someone like maybe Umaga (or another heel) win the title. Then next year let HHH win the title and he can keep it a couple months. But stop just letting the same 1 or 2 people have the belts all the time. It gets old.

Because he's not needed as champion, for one thing. Orton's holding up the division pretty well, regardless to how much people hate him, Jericho's making a very good and credible challenger for the belt, Kennedy and HBK are in a feud that will inevitably lead to a world title shot, I'm willing to bet (and hopefully HBK v. HHH at Mania.) and Trips is trying to atone for his selfish return of squashing the entire Raw undercard by giving someone like Jeff Hardy more credibility as a contender for the World. Triple H knows his place, and he knows the best thing to do right now is to take a backseat to the more over faces, like Jericho HBK, and (when he comes back) Cena.
I'm not saying that Triple H isn't worthy, but it wasn't too long ago that every Tom, Dick, and Harry on the internet was b!tching about Trips holding the strap for too long.
I guess, what I'm saying is, Triple H isn't everyone's favorite wrestler, just like JBL wasn't everyone's favorite wrestler after 12 months as champion, just like Cena's not everyone's favorite wrestler after 12 months on top. If wrestling fans had their way, the title would switch hands every PPV, it would have no value, prestige, or real purpose. Let Orton have this reign, and let everyone have time to forget that Triple H has held that strap, what? 10 or 11 times? Let someone else have the spotlight for a bit.

Because Triple H can get a wwe champ any time he wants and plus he already has 11 of them. And he has said that he wants to put young talent over
Jeff Hardy and Umaga= young talent

HHH is moving out of the way for a while for this hot Y2J vs Orton feud. In turn, HHH is elevating Umaga & Hardy to main event status. HHH will eventually challenge for the WWE title again in 2008.
