You went to several parties, such as, pampered chef, scrapbook, and home interior parties of a friend of yours and you spent ALOT of money, especially at the scrapbook party and then you had 1 signature home party and that friend didnt come to yours and gave you a lame excuse about not coming? Would you just ignore it or would you let them know how you feel? Do I have a right to feel used or am I being petty?

I just wanted to add that her excuse for not coming was that she is pregnant, let me also add she was only 7 weeks pregnant.

I don't think that you are being petty at all. That is a terrible thing to do to a friend, if she even thought of you as a friend. Unfortunately, there are users in this world and there are people that get used. I feel like she completely used you to get what she wanted. If you supported her and went to all her parties, she could have shown a little appreciation and come to yours. I wouldn't worry myself with people like that. I am SURE you have better friends then that.

The same kinda thing happened to me. I live ina different state than my best friend and my sister was having her wedding there so we flew in from out of state. My friend was gonna go so that we could see eachother. She didn't come and she had this lame excuse that her parents neck hurt so she couldnt come. I felt really hurt. I emailed her and told her that if she didnt want to come she should have just told me instead of making a stupid excuse. Anyway, I found out that she isnt such a great friend. Tell her how you feel. Youll know if shes a good friend or not. Good luck!

You absolutely have the right to feel used! All those parties are about is you spending lots of money, even if you only bought one thing! I wouldn't go to any more of her parties if I were you. Yes, you should tell her how you feel. Doesn't sound like she is a very good friend.

Well you always have the right to feel however you want. And with that being said, I wouldnt feel used. I would be very mad. I mean you took the time out of your life to support her parties and buy from them and she cant do the same in return? Whats up with that? I would definetly talk to her about it.

I just went through this with several family members. I go through snow, sleet, rain and blistering summer to their events, but they can't show me the same courtesy. So, Iet them all know how I felt and not to invite me to any other events, because I wouldn't be coming. I can't count the money in cards, gas and time that I have given. The same distance it takes for you to travel to their events, is the same it would take for them to return the favor. You have to start somewhere, but be strong.

no your not being petty. it's only fair. and plus it depends on the excuse. if they gave an excuse and you knew its a bullshyt excuse, then tell them exactly whats on your mind. and if they feel like your being wrong, then dont do anymore parties with the guy/gal. good luck sweetie
