It feels like really bad cramps, tighting all around your stomach. I was in the bath tub when I felt something it didn't hurt to much it was just weird. It felt like someone grabed the sides of my stomach and pulled as hard as they could. The more I sat there the worse they became then I decided to go the hospital. They will start getting harder if you are in labor. Start timing them to see how long they last. When they start lasting 5-7 minutes I would call the doctor. Good luck with everything!!!

It's true. They feel like period cramping at the beginning and it gets 10-20 times more intense as the labor progresses. It can be tightening in the front of the belly and/or sides. It also causes back pain. You'll know whether its false labor or not. If its the real thing, the contractions just keep getting worse and don't go away. Just monitor yourself and if you need to, call your doctor.

I have had four kids. For me, contractions felt totally different from cramps. Cramps hurt much worse. A contraction is a tightening of the uterus, accompanied by a dull ache. It is not a sharp pain like a cramp. If you are having cramps, you probably need more calcium.
I used the Bradley method of childbirth, which uses total relaxation to prevent uterine cramps.

No no longer even near. braxton hicks is while your complete stomach will get truly tight for seconds to mins, looks like strain, cant breathe and slightly tiny cramp. Real contractions think EXACTLY like your interval cramps however soooo a lot more severe. U will absolutely understand while it's truly hard work or no longer. The discomfort is not going to get larger however simplest worsen...suppose again to while u had relatively dangerous cramps along with your interval and multiply that by way of one hundred...with an epidural and a few discomfort meds u will manipulate...well good fortune!!

It's very hard to describe, but I remember it feeling like the pain of a menstural cramp x 10000. Even worse than the cramp in your foot or leg. Not trying to scare you - it's really different for every mom. And once you hold that beautiful baby in your arms - all is forgotten (lol)!

they start off feeling pretty much exactly like period cramps (since they are actually the same thing, both during your period and in labor you feel cramps as your uterus contracts). You may also feel alot of tightening in your abdomen, lower back pain (I had back labor so bad with my son I barely even noticed the actual contractions since the pain was so focused on my back), and you'll feel pressure on your pelvic floor as the baby moves down (feels alot like you have to poop, lol). It can be hard to tell between real contractions and false labor in the early stages; but trust me, once you hit active labor, you'll know.

well, I had really bad back labor, so I had painful cramps in my lower back...and there was no breathing through them, I had to bend over from the pain and my husband had to rub my back so much that I got bruises! But the cramps in the front were just like really bad menstral cramps! good luck!
