Dry cleaning is a nasty environmental nightmare. Unless you are using a "green" dry cleaner, but there are not many of them. Anyway, If it is the type of comforter I think it is, then if you put it in the washer, the material will bunch up inside of it. Unless you have a front load, this could change things. Because a lot of stuff that says "dry clean only" is ment for a front load washer and that is all the dry cleaner would do.

I know that dry cleaning linens is ridiculously expensive, but your dry cleaner has a better chance than you of getting the odor out. They’re experts at dealing with stains, and regular laundry soap won’t necessarily remove pet urine odor. In fact, gentle/cold will probably do little for your issue.

In a word, "NO!" Those warning and care labels are not there for nothing. I suggest that you go ahead and take it to the cleaners. They can do a much better job that the machine at the laundry mat. Your other alternative is to hand wash the item.

Only if you want a comforter that will fit a doll bed when you are finished. I would not advise washing it. Take it to the dry cleaner (pay more for one of the better ones) and let them know why you are bringing it in. They will be able to rid your comforter of the odor.

Oh dear...
I wouldn't suggest it. But I daresay this is not the first time the dry cleaner has dealt with pet problems, and there should be special products to deal with it.
Good luck!

I wouldn't wash it. Not unless you want it to come out smaller. Tell your dry cleaner what the stain is so they can treat it.

No, it says dry clean only for a reason, you don't want to ruin it. The people at the drycleaners know what they are doing and should be able to deal with it.
