I have a new Acer.
It sucks.
It had the best specs, and ran for three months.
Acer has been yanking my chain for the last eight months, and the computer still doesn't work.
I have paid for more freight and non-warranty items than the computer is worth.
Buy a Toshiba, HP or Dell.
They last.

The MacBook will be by far the better choice. And it can burn CDs, and I think DVDs as well.

Acer sucks, go with the Mac! You can always choose a combo CD/DVD-RW drive to burn CD's and DVD's.

both can burn DVDs and CDs. question is do you want to run windows or macintosh. If you are familiar with windows and want to stick with it, then don't get the mac. if you want to try somethign new and learn somethign new, then try the mac. The mac will cost you close to double the cost of the windows laptop. windows laptop should be between $600-$700 and the mac between $1200 and $1400.
