the drain/filter/screen in the bottom may be plugged

scoop out or use a wet vac to get the water out of the bottom

the spray arm on the bottom should be surrounded be a plastic screen which should lift out
under this there may be another screen which should lift out

clean these and reinstall

Once this is done turn on your dishwasher/ the pump should run first removing any water, the next cycle primes the pump and then it washes and repeats

Let it run and see if it removes the water, if not it may be clogged further down or your pump may be bad

The drain is plugged with something. You should call a plumber.

Do you happen to have a garbage disposal? It seemed like when we get ours clogged up, it would back up into the dishwasher.

put on rubber gloves, check the strainer at the bottom of the washer, borrow a wet vac and suck it out, or use a sponge or towel to get the water out,
