when he saw that his ratings were not as high as jerry's... He is just like all the rest of them, a whore for the almighty dollar.. Phil Donahue actually started this genre a long time ago...and he had a decent show until he brought on a goofy married couple who had each had a sex change operation after they were married...that sort of started the downhill slide of interview shows

Maury was the one who inspired Jerry Springer to start his show.
Maury and Jerry were separated at birth.

Yes, Maury had alot of good things on, but maybe the ratings weren't good so they had him change it for the ratings, that's all those tv people are interested in are ratings, not if it is a clean show, just thier ratings.

I used to love Maury, but laely his show has been about, YOU ARE NOT THE FATHER!!. Some of these girls just don't have a clue. They know they slept around and thats not their baby daddy. I stop watching it! I still love you Maury.

"Maury" was respectable when Paramount distributed his show back in the day...a while after he switched distributors (what is these days NBC Universal, home to Jerry Springer) is when it started getting trashoid.
After he switched to Universal TV's syndication unit, his show quickly devolved to what it is now.

Maury is a waste of time and I can't believe people go on t.v. and put all their business out there like that. Makes me sick.

When he realized that competition was too stiff and he wouldn't last with a normal talk show. Actually, I used to respect him as a serious journalist/reporter "back in the day." I guess he saw that trash sells and his ratings would climb, and guess what...he was right! Garbage sells.

i know! most of the episodes are praternity tests or someone needs to tell their spouse that they've cheated on them. i've noticed this for the past couple years...it's disappointing
