alot of my flash drives and sd cards dont work =/

whats taking them so long? and why are they still letting people buy these products? shouldnt they just halt it until its fixed?

Halt what? Product development is time and Money! MS spend way to long to develop vista already. Was it ready for release! Probably not. But they needed to start to make money on the product. Really most OS the first draft isn't going to be that great! (there is always problems.)
They are probably are working on most of the problems, but getting a flash drive to work with vista probably isn't on top of the list (but it might be up there).
What is sad, is how many computers are coming pre-installed with vista. I'm sure MS gave all of the computer dealers a good discount to start loading vista on the computer (instead of XP).
There is suppose to be an SP1 come out at the first of the year that well help speed of Vista (and fix some of the bugs) but I don't know if it would fix a flash drive issue. I'm actually kind of surprised that vista has a problem with your flash drive? Unless its older model.

I totally agree. You'd think after 20,000 programmers and 5 years spend working on this project, the money you pay for this O/S, it should have been totally correct from the gate.
My personal experiences.
I spend almost a months working on mine before I finally got it working like I wanted.
The key thing is..Use only Vista signature programs only~!
Keep your computer updated. I understand about the backward compatability, etc. I don't use it.
So far, for the last 3 months, mine has been working nearly rock solid perfect.
I would say, there's light at the end of the tunnel.
Good Luck~!

Simply because like so many platforms it was rushed to market and didn't have any built in interfaces to back date program and device interface. MS insists they are correcting this problem but until they do most folks I know are either "downgrading" to their previous OS or switching to Linux and Sun. It really could work if they had just looked at the non MS peripherals people wanted to use on it.

They released it too early. They are forcing people to buy new computers in order to operate vista, since old computers can't handle that os.

Until servicepack 1 comes out (think next year) you just have to get over it.

Or be smart about it and not upgrade to vista. XP works perfectly fine.
