Moments ago, a lightbulb fell off the base of it that is still inside the ceiling fan along with the little wiry things on the inside of the lightbulb. How do I safely remove this and why did this happen? Should I be concerned

All of the above. Make sure you turn the power off to the ceiling fan from the circuit breaker box. Turning off the fan won't do it. The wires may still be hot and you could get electrocuted.

The bulb broke and it probably wont happen again. Turn the electricity off at the breaker box. It should say what room it is at the box. Also make sure the switch is off. Now you should be able to remove it with a pair of pliers. Grab the metal edge with the pliers and unscrew it. If youre still nervous wear a pair of rubber gloves.

Shut off power to that light from the circuit box; then take a pair of needle nose pliers, grab hold, and twist it out. Who knows why. Probably just a faulty manufactured bulb.

YES! YES!

Turn the circuit breaker OFF!

Safety first. If you don't know which circuit breaker it is then turn them ALL OFF.

Then get that bad boy out anyway you can. I prefer the needle nose pliers over the potato. But as you can tell, there isn't much to it.

Just turn the POWER off!

Go to your fuse box and turn off the electrical current (breakers) to that room. Get some gloves and needle nose pliers and try to unscrew it out. After you get it out, turn your breakers back on.

make sure you turn electric off at mains and by using pliers and torch twist base out of hole.
If you cant do that cut off light wire completely and redo it safely at ground level -then rewire back (with mains off)

Cut a potato in half. Using the cut end, stick it into the broken pieces of glass left in the socket. Turn the potato clockwise to remove the broken bulb.
