YOU stay clean. If you let THEM play their game, they will eventually lose. Just give them enough rope, and they will hang themselves. Do not retaliate, keep a journal, get eyewitness accounts and ask if they will speak on your behalf if the time shoud arrive, let appropriate authorities (parents, school, cops, etc) know of what is going on.
I just went through a situation where the ex was literally out to get me. I did all of the above, and eventually he stopped trying. I documented everything, reported everything, acquired many friends and acquaintances in the legal system. He, on the other hand, acquired too many visits from the cops!

What can you do? All that is needed to be done is to take a stand...grind your feet into the earth so that it is clear you cannot be taken down....though of course, you could always just run

Love them for who they are and who they could be, not what they do or what you think of them. Love them because you are love and you are loved and in that you can share with them the happiness they so apparently need and can't figure how to attain without causing others harm.
Show them your love.
