I've heard that people cannot go to Cuba. Is that true? Who can visit the island then?

Cuba has over 2 million visitors every year - and most come just as tourists.

For most nationalities, there are no formalities to visit - just buy a $20 tourist card.

Tourism is huge in Cuba. It's an extremely beautiful country with extremely nice people. The history and architecture are very interesting as well. From what I understand the only ones not allowed there are Americans except under special cirmcumstances.

Not really important. Why would they go to Cuba, whose government is a sworn enemy of the USA ? No, bubbles. fidel deals with drugs in a very careful way, not like that If somebody wants to go to Cuba, go and stay there to help fidel and the little brudder to build comunism By the way, why you don't ask why us, the Cubans cannot travel outside of our country and return without a visa ?

Cuba WANTS people to visit their island. And it is one very beautiful island made up of beautiful people.
You can travel from anywhere in the world. There are U.S restrictions, but even then there are ways that Americans can travel there, too.

People from all over the world travel there...from North America, Europe, South America, etc.

Cuba welcomes people and they love it when there are visitors who keep coming back.

Of course! It's one of their biggest industries. The Island is beautiful and the people, spite of the propaganda are very content there. The ones defecting are like any other defectors in any country, mostly the scumbags. The towns are unbelievably clean and well kept. If you are going, be prepared for a great experience. I had no problems because I'm Mexican. I went with a Mexican Passport.

Yes , everybody is welcome as a tourist. You are free to go where you want. The Cuban people are very warm and kind. Only US citizens need a license from their government to enter Cuba. Problems only might occur when you are involved in illegal matters such as drugstrade and actions against the regime.
Cuba is a wonderful country , enjoy your stay.
