It starts right back up again, but when I accelerate it will jump once and then it will run fine until I slow down again and it jumps and stalls again. My car is a 1992 buick century... Anyone know what the problem might be???

I had a 1990 Buick Century about 3 years ago and had the same problem. It was the Mass Airflow Sensor. The car is not regulating the air it needs to make the spark for the gasoline to burn, etc. so it stalls out at lights. The reason it works going down the highway, etc. is because the air in getting into the engine with the air cutting through your hood, but when you stop, no airflow, no workie.

Like Mikey and frank f have mentioned. You did no longer get the entire tale. there is not any way the police or everyone however the landlord of the motor vehicle is going to might desire to pay for damages and prefer mentioned here is why. If spikes are used on a motor vehicle, it replaced into maximum probable in a pursuit. this means that the driving force is breaking the regulation for no longer pulling over. (whether it replaced into the incorrect motor vehicle) At this factor the driving force is going to be arrested and is committing a criminal offense. The police use spike strips to end the motor vehicle, and driving force is arrested. Any harm to the motor vehicle that's brought about is the duty of the driving force or proprietor at this factor.

Lots of guesses here. Without any background on the car it is hard to say. Has it had regular maintenance like tune-ups, filter changes and such? It could be anything from a bad fuel filter, bad fuel pump, faulty spark plugs...the list goes on. The only way to be sure is get it diagnosed at a good shop that you trust.

I had one of those. We threw parts at it for years. My suggestion? Buy the $20 scanner that comes with the code book. This will help narrow your search.
What eventually fixed our was replacing the crank shaft sensor. What it is, is a little magnet that mounts the the crank.
This helps the crank position sensor to function properly.
We also had to replace the prom chip ($20 at the dealership)in the computer to make it run smooth again.

I would start with the fuel filter, after that you need to check your spark plugs, maybe you need a tune-up, if it has never been done. I also use a fuel system cleaner, once every three months. I have noticed that my vehicle seems ??? to run better.

Good luck, car repairs are costly......

When was the last time you had a tune up and replaced the spark plugs? You need to have tune up, change the spark plugs and check the fuel filter.

First check around for a vacum line being loose or broken, And if thats no it then see if it has an electric carborator and if so then it may need to be repaired, I had the exact same problem and mine turned out to be the electric carb, best of luck friend

Sounds like a fuel problem. Clogged filter maybe, or a bad fuel pump. Could be a lot of things though.

I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU GET YOUR VEHICLES COMPUTER SCANNED TO FIND OUT JUST WHAT THE PROBLEM IS FIRST SO THEN YOU WILL HAVE SOME IDEA WHAT IS WRONG AS WELL AS WHAT TO EXPECT.

TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR ANY CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE PERSONAL SERVICE THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE.
