as a Yankees fan i have to say that i have mixed feelings about this
i think the Yankees offer was very nice a very good pitching prospect and a good center fielder with another prospect and you can't let Minnesota ask you what ever they wont!
but on the other hand i would hate to see Santana go to the red sox and have the 2 best pitchers in the league

Yes, it would piss me off a great deal! Again "Hank the Yank" and his big Steinbrenner mouth could be costing the Yankees a real shot at a pennant. I don't want to see the Red Sox get him. I want the Yankees to get him. I don't have a problem with the truth. The name of the game is win! Second place doesn't mean crap!
If this attitude is based on Pettitte returning for one year it would be the worse decision Steinbrenner could make. We're talking about Andy pitching maybe one more year verses Santana pitching the rest of his career as a Yankee. Steinbrenner owes it to the franchise and the fans to make the deal happen.

I doubt that precise Yankee enthusiasts are scared. Power doesn't suggest same championships because the years have proven. Pitching, and safeguard consistently wins. If the Yankees do signal Cliff Lee, then they're going to have the opening rotation of Lee, Sabathia, Hughes, Pettitte and Burnett. That's a sexy forged opening rotation, nonetheless they're going to have query marks with Pettitte (age) and Burnett (Consistency). Yankees have ample energy however what they have got to increase more youthful proficiency.

They won't admit it but they are ALL VERY upset. Or would be if it happens. If the SOX get Santana it's lights out for the Yankees for a long time. Plus, whichever goober thinks that Haren will be cheaper, prospect wise, needs to be introduced to Billy Beane, the A's GM. There is no one in baseball better at prying "untouchable" prospects out of other teams hands than Billy Beane. If the Yankers want Haren it will cost them just as much as Santana would since Billy would know by than that Yankees would be desperate for a top pitcher just so they still could have a shot at the WILD CARD.
Bedard? Are you serious? Anyone who thinks the Orioles would trade their top pitcher to a team in their own division is OUT OF THEIR MIND!
It's Santana or nothing Yanker fans.

Im not upset at all. It would be nice to have Johan but not at the expense of Melky, Hughes, Kennedy, or Cano. Thats way to much to give up for one player who more than likely will start to decline in about 4 yrs. The yanks are beginning to do what the Braves did and that is trying to make a team out of the farm system and I couldnt be happier about that one. People should start to consider Johan going to the Angels. It was stated that trade talks for M. Cabrera have stalled and they could offer the Twinkies a great package for Santana and use the money they were willing to pay for Cabrera towards Santana. Seems like thats becoming more of a possibility.

NO,Not one bit,I want Hughes, and Kenndy to stay! I really really don't want Santana! I don't know maybe it was all the other let downs we signed in the past,Pavano,Brown,Johnson'Wright!,,I just think we should give our HOME GROWN FARM boys a chance! Plus today on Mike and the Mad Dog show,They read Santana's #s against the Yanks,And we really have great #s against him,I'm more scared of Beckett.I'm happy Hal closed the door on this deal! The Gm of Orioles SAID EVERYONE ON THE TEAM IS UP FOR GRABS!! If the price is right! Berdard
Is one of those pitchers!! Some of these people think they no it all!!

Glad the Yankees might not get him. Giving up on 21 year old pitchers is not the greatest idea in the world. Santana's year was not great last year (by his standards). Still have to play the games on the field and if you look Santana's record at Fenway is pretty bad (1-7).
Hoepfully the young ptichers for the Yankees will develop as expected and it should be a good season.

As a Yankee fan, I would like Santana on my team but I think the Yankees will just do fine without him.

As a yankees fan, i would really like to have santana, but at the right price. i certainly would not give up both hughes and kennedy. if the yanks don't get him, then so be it. i just hope the back up plan isn't getting rid of hughes and other for haren. i would rather have hughes than haren.
