A citizen of Maine is known as a "Mainer," though the term "Downeaster" may be applied to residents of the northeast coast of the state. Citizens of Maine sometimes jokingly refer to themselves as "Maineiacs."

Mainers -
http://www.netstate.com/states/intro/me_intro.htm
( I live in a province called Saskatchewan, so I'm a Saskatchewanian. I live in a city called Saskatoon, so I'm a Saskatonian - yes, they drop an "o" so it's pronounced differently).
My favorite odd ones - if you're from Halifax, you're a Haligonian; from Glasgow, a Glaswegian; from Moscow, a Muscovite.
