If you have a chronic UTI, there is probably a structural problem with your bladder which needs to be discovered. You're going to have to go back to the doctor, maybe a different doctor, until they diagnose the problem correctly. Otherwise, you may end up with a kidney infection which is dangerous and EXPTREMELY painful. Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids and take some vitamin c to reduce the amount of bacteria in your urine (I read this) but please find a doctor who can help you! Take care!

All these comments are from 8 years ago. This is 2015. I am writing because I too had a UTI that would not go away after antibiotics. I went to the doctor twice, there was nothing else they would give me, they didn t know what else they could do. After that, I found a comment on another website about someone who had tried something called UT vibrance with D-Mannose (by Vibrant Health)...I decided what do I have to lose, I will go down to Whole Foods and buy it. I bought the powdered version, and drank it with water or cranberry juice 4 times a day for 3 days as suggested. After the first two hours of taking it I already felt 50% better, and by the next day 75% better. After the 3rd day I felt 90% better, and then went back to Whole Foods and bought the capsule version, and took that three times a day for a week. It is now two weeks later and I have no symptoms of UTI. It is the ONLY thing that worked for me, and I just wanted to share it in case there is someone else out there who is going through the same thing. I wish I had known about it earlier, I would not have suffered so long. It is also available on Amazon.com and other websites as well. Hope this helps!

Blitz your body with garlic...fresh, whole, minced (anything but powdered, as in the spice section). Eat it on everything. Take 3000 mg supplecment pills twice a day. Yes, it's a lot. You will smell like spaghetti sauce too. But garlic is a natural antibiotic.
In addition to that, drink lots and lots of water to keep your urinary tract flushed. And of course, if you have dealt with this very long, you know about cranberry juice. My advice is that cranberries are available all over this time of year. Buy them fresh, sweeten them up a little with stevia or Splenda (sugar isn't good for you when you have an infection) and eat them stewed...again a BLITZ.
Be careful how you wipe so you don't reinfect your urethra. And to clean yourself in the shower, a gentle cleanser on your hand or a soft cloth. Let the water run into the area to rinse, but don't forcefully spray or scrub yourself. This could cause more irritation, and force any contaminants further up...similar to the hazards of douching your vagina.
Azo has a pain reliever for the discomfort of a UTI. It is in the feminine hygiene section by the pregnacy tests and the personal cleansing wipes. It turns your pee a dark orangey red color so if you are having any minor accidents use a panty liner. This will help with the urgent false alarm feeling of having to go right after you finish...which will help you sort out when you really have to pee. After that, you should respond immediately to any urge to go, instead of holding it.

UTIs can recur quite easily in women, especially if they are not following a careful urinary practise. First, did the doctors you saw get cultures and do sensitivity testing on the urine? Or did they just order you some antibiotic? This is commonly done btw, because most UTIs are caused by the ecoli organism and doctors will order the most common antibiotics without doing a sensitivity study first. I would recommend you see a Urologist and have a cystoscopy done as well as getting a C&S done on your urine.
You also need to be careful to wipe front to back, urinate IMMEDIATELY after sex, drink at least two liters of water daily, and change to cotton underwear if you don't already use it, and change it daily. Take showers, not tub baths.

Hi! I'm a holistic health care provider and deal with this plenty with out antibiotics. one million) Eliminate sugar, wheat and dairy out of your nutrition. two) Get the homeopathic comfort, CANTHARIS 30, and take four pellets beneath your tongue three instances an afternoon for four-five days. Stop taking the capsules the second the discomfort/signs begin to subside. three) Get acidophilus drugs from the healthfood retailer. This replenishes the well micro organism that has been killed off via the antibiotics. Take three drugs a few instances an afternoon on an empty belly. You MUST preserve acidophilus within the refrigerator. four) Ask your self why you're 'annoyed?' There is most of the time an emotional cause underlying this situation. If you heal the emotion, the bodily signs subside. Good success! Doc M

Blueberry juice is supposed to be really good for that, I assume you have already tried Cranberry, those are both good for the kidneys and bladder...here's a couple things I found:
Goldenseal root – This herb has a long and well-documented history as a powerful antimicrobial agent. Use as a tea made from 1 tsp of dried herb per cup of hot water; in capsule form (1000 mg); or as a tincture (1 to 2 teaspoons in warm water).
Uva Ursi – Clinical research proves traditional use as an antiseptic with soothing and strengthening properties. Use as a tea made from 2 tsp of herb per cup of hot water; or as a tincture (1 to 2 teaspoons in warm water).
Also, look up cystitis...it's very similar to UTI but sometimes the treatment is different, maybe find another doctor, or a good gyn, maybe they could help you.
Good luck, I hope you feel better soon.

Try drinking lots of cranberry juice every day, all day until it clears up.
Wine is supposed to help too, as well as some other diuretics like coffee and tea.
I always use the cranberry juice as I don't really have time to run to the docs all of the time.
Also, if this doesn't work, it could be a sign of a bigger problem. Get a specialist since the docs you've seen aren't getting it fixed.

I have had these all the time because I was a swimmer. This is what worked for me.
I know that every says to drink lots of cranberry juice, and this does help EXCEPT it has to be the 100% juice kind, not the juice cocktail.
Also AZO puts out a cranberry pill that I take daily.
Also drinks lots of water to keep the track clear of bacterial growth.
Also what helps relieve pain, take a hot shower, lay on your back and let the hot water run down your hoo. this helps keep the pain down. I'm sure you already know to wipe front to back and to pee right before and after sex. I also always take a shower after sex and clean with soap and water just to make sure.
lastly, dont wear tight underwear...cotton ones, and also use sanitary pads to collect any discharge!
GOOD LUCK!

Doctors don't really help anything these days!...
drink lots of cranberry juice, and I mean lots... and then flush that with lots of water. you need to pee the infection out.
Lay off caffeine which stresses the body and eat a good healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetable to help replace your minerals and vitamins so the body has the energy to fight the infection better.
