If you mean ex-spouses, I would say it's because we live in a culture that has a very twisted idea of what real Love is. The Real Thing does not evaporate when the going gets tough. And the going will ALWAYS get tough in a marriage, no matter how good the match.

I honestly know why I have an ex. You know something else it's my own fault; when I married him it was only to escape a certain situation I was in. The marriage lasted three years; despite the fact we were completely mismatched. I guess you could say we genuinely cared for each other in the end, yet it wasn't enough to hold on.

I'm one of those people who find themselves unhapy with a personand if I stay that way for very longI never get over the feeling, I have found I just don't want to forgive or forget.Alone and hurt to me is much better than living with the one who caused the pain. One other thing I will not pay someone not to live with me.

I think it's similar to a person who goes from job to job endlessly, always getting fired or quitting for some odd reason. The common denominator is the PERSON, not the jobs. So I'd say the common denomination is the person with all the "exes". They may have a problem within their relationships that is caused by themselves.
