Part of what makes a TomTom so good is that it includes a year of updates for the maps. Those updates come from their company and from other users who spotted errors in maps of their areas. They also have access to maps showing locations of Traffic cameras to avoid speeding tickets. If you get a used one it will not come with those updates and could direct you onto roads that no longer exist. That sure takes away the good part.

I have a magellan and love it BUT I suggest getting it at best buy and buying the warranty because GPS units will have issues. I have already had to return mine because it would not recognize the plug. best buy had the best deal with the warranty.

The best thing is eBay or online auctioning. It's not cheap it's probably stolen :)
