I notice a thicker discharge around ovulation time. It has a stronger odor and i just like to feel clean. Its not an odor like somethings wrong, its just more prominent. Probably not even noticable to others (my man), but I find myself doing it a lot lately.

douching is not good for you. It alters the ph balance of your vaginal secretions and leaves you wide open to yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis. If you don't like thicker secretions, then simply drink more water, they will thin right out, much better for your health.

Douching excessively is not a good thing at all and can really mess you up leaving you more vulnerable to vaginal problems like introcucing bacteria into the vagina resulting in infections, causing yeast infections, dryness and tissue damage, bacterial vaginosis, which if untreated can lead to PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) and infertility. Douching frequently makes you over 70% more at risk of PID infection.

It also makes it tons EASIER to catch STDs like chlamidia, gonohhrea, syphilis and HIV.

Douching can be ok and even necessary a once or twice every couple years, but it should never, ever be a regular thing. The secretions of your own vaginal fluids is best for 'cleaning' the vagina.

like everyone else said, douching is really bad for you. The smell could be a high bacteria count from douching so often. You can have bacterial infections and not even have any physical symptoms other than smell. I'd go to a gyn or planned parernthood and have them check it out.

Things I've heard about douching, is that it's not healthy for you, even if it does sound like it.
It disrupts the natural...bacteria? that helps clean out the vagina.

Yes and I would stop before you get a PID.

Discharge during ovulation is normal and you should leave it alone.
