the high beam switch was on the floor board and you turned it off and on with your left foot?

Ha my dads Chevelle still has that switch and it still works. Its really in a smart position on the car too. Because when your driving a round a corner and another car is coming you have to take your hand off the wheel to turn off the high beams. In the Chevelle you just have to tap it with your foot.

Sure do. My first car a 1962 Ford Falcon had the stomp switch on the floor.

yep, owned several with the brights/dimmer switch on the left floorboard... really took some getting used to when they switched it to the blinker lever (not to mention all the issues for a few years getting the bugs worked out)...

Had that in my "68 GTO, sure do miss it. The car, too!! You didn't have to let go of the wheel to switch your lights.
