....and you want the heater to start throwing out warm air asap, is it best to turn the heat on high, hoping that it'll make the air warm more quickly, or does it really matter? Couldn't you just set the heat on low and the air heats just as quickly. I'd rather set it on low and wait for the warm air then turn it up as opposed to have the cold air freeze my toes waiting for warm air.

It really does not matter. You won't get no heat until the thermostat opens up and fill the heater core with anti freeze.

It really doesn't matter, you can just start the car and go. You know that myth about starting the car and letting it run for a while to heat up the engine before leaving the garage? Well, the thing is, the cars engine will heat up anyway as you move so you can leave immediately after starting up. So it ermains a myth. Thats the same for the heater, guess you just need a little patience when it comes to trying to get warm:)

The heater core is like a small radiator that air passes over to warm it up. Turning the heater on before the engine is warm will only blow cool air. If you wait until the car has started to warm up you will be better off as the water pumping through the heater core will only add to the time it takes the engine to heat up. Not that big a time difference however.

The heat comes from your engine so as your engine starts to warm up then your heater will start to warm you up. I usually turn mine on the floor setting until I've driven around for a few seconds(usually takes about 30-45 seconds+10 seconds sitting to get oil moving) for the heat to start warming the cabin.

Engine heat is what regulates the temperature of your heater air. The fan blower speed is irrelevant. Keep your blower on low or off until your engine warms up, and then blast the heat!

Stay on low or off till you get some warm air blowing. If you have it on high it's only good if you are home and you have your car going for 10min or so, before you actually drive it.

It doesn't matter. It depends on your engine heating up, since that's where the heat comes from. The quicker your engine heats up, the quicker your car warms up.
