Very difficult situation for any government.I sympathise with their dilemna and would not criticise them whatever path they choose to take.It is notable that with no media coverage these hostages are still alive.I'm inclined to think that perhaps the government have played it canny as they crave an audience to get their point across. How they resolve it.I would not even attempt to suggest a solution to this nightmare situation.Past events do not inspire hope, sadly.

USA was never been cleaver in any of its military engagements in Iraq! The way they arrested, abused, tortured the POWS and the people in general, has the reflection of abuse of US citizens abduction by the insurgents and various militant factions! If at all US could have well treated the POWS and the people, then hostage crisis would not be so high as we see today!

it is a sad state of affairs that they have been imprisoned for such a long time

i don't know what the government can do - it is not wise to even consider negotiating with these murderers and thugs - if they are given any concessions they will just continue to kidnap and terrorise

it is unfortunate that so many Brits feel the need to take contracts to work in this country and out themselves at risk

i wish them well, but fear for their safety in the hands of terrorists...
