While unions play an important worker safety role, it is the duty of the construction company to keep a safe workplace including worksites, tools, extension cords, etc., And OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) to enforce the safety rules.

No, unions don't prevent workplace accidents.
That is like saying laws prevent crimes. They don't. They just decide how to proceed once the crime is committed.
Michigan is full of laws and our crime rates are going through the roof. No correlation whatsoever.
Just make the sheep feel better.

Unions help make rules and policies that aid in preventing workplace accidents, but ultimately it comes down to the people you work with. Although, I suppose if one is specifically careless you can report him/her to the union.

Unions have played a major role in work place safety. If you looked at history in the U.S., you see it. Child labor laws and many other laws were passed due to the unions. If you think otherwise, your misinformed big time!

No.
Workplace accidents are prevented by safe working environments and practices. It has nothing to do with a union.

I would have to say yes
I know the unions have made safety standards manditory for manufacturers.
I also know that the dollar is regarded higher than worker safety by manufacturers

Ever heard of OSHA? You think that would have passed into law without unions?

In many cases, yes. They cause unsafe conditions to be repaired. They want their members to be working in safe conditions.

No. All unions do is take dues from their members and embroil the employers in endless and frivolous lawsuits until the employer has to shut down.
