* I shouldn't answer this at meal time but the worst home(?) I was ever in was that of an animal hoarder! Sixty cats & dogs in a two bedroom house, feces inches deep, urine smell so bad that we wore masks to just get in & rescue the pets! Several dead kittens and rats, mice & cockroaches were abundant* I apologize for answering this at the dinner hour*

Had a friend in H/S who lived in a one bedroom apt with her mother, herself and her two brothers. There was always trash everywhere, Mom smoked in the house, and there was always this cloud of smoke hanging in the air and in the hallway going in...there were roaches, mice, holes in the floor that you could literally see the apt below thru...half the time they had no water or electric running because Mom spent her money on 'other' things that were necessary to her but not the kids.

I spent a week in New Orleans helping clean up after Katrina.

I saw homes from both ends of the spectrum, from humble to royal. All destroyed.

It hurt my heart.

If you drive up a certain mountain in the area I live in you'll find houses that have walls of just plywood and roofs sealed with black garbage bags......you don't want to break down near them or even slow down.

the trailer of a potential babysitter I was looking for. Her windows were broken, especially in the baby's room, and the place reeked of smoke. I also remember a huge floor fan going full blast in the hallway, and one of the babies she was watching was crawling around it. She couldn't pay ME to watch my children.

worst home I have ever seen is my own, looks like it was devasted by a tornado with mess everywhere inside and out; I can't even get a maid to clean it, once she sees it.
