Well, my doctor wanted me to get on clomid after 6 months of ttc with no luck because he done some blood work and found out I wasn't ovulating at the time. I was the same as you are, I didn't want to rush into any decision like that and end up with more babies than I could handle. So my hubby and I decided to wait and see if the problem resolved itself, the dr said it may but was unlikely. Well we tried that for another year and still haven't concevived, a couple months ago I started doing lots of research on it and found out the risk of having even twins was only increased by 3% and for getting pregnant with triplets or more went down to less than one percent. I know with other fertility treatments the odds are a lot higher, but with clomid which is normally the first thing the dr will try, they aren't very high. I wish I would have done the research a long time ago! It would have saved a lot of heartache. I will start clomid on my next cycle if I am not pg from this one, which I doubt! But I am just worried that it won't work and I will have to go to something stronger, but from what my dr says the only problem I have is not ovulating and that is what clomid does, it makes you ovulate!
I would look into this one before I tried anything else, but if you want to do a lot of research and if I could do it all over again, I would have done it when the dr first wanted me to. They know what they are talking about!
Good Luck and Baby Dust!!!

I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and it can be difficult for those who have it to get pregnant without fertility meds. They will typically start you on a medicine called Clomid. You can have side effect such as nausea or headaches but I've seen no evidence of potential continuing problems.
Basically, the Clomid gives you the same odds as everyone else does to get pregnant if you ovulate on it.
I have been told there is a risk of multiples but it is very slight. 10% for twins and less for triplets. More than that is very unlikely on this med.

The majority of women who have fertility drugs have only singletons. All fertility drugs have some side effects, but mostly its the dosage or whether it's an injectable or not. If you absolutely would not reduce if you found that you had higher order multiples you would either have to risk the complications that come with it or choose not to use any fertility medications at all. In fact, I know of two women who chose not to use fertility medications due to that risk. To each their own.

Enjoying the feeling of motherhood and raising a family would surely be a couple’s dream. Some get it naturally, while for some others things don’t seem to work as they desire. These reasons which stop a women from conceiving can be due to either physical reasons or truly physiological.

I would say it would depend on the drug and I think Clomid is the one that is mostly prescribed. (SP?) lol...anyways I doubt there will be much trouble with multiples. I don't really know much more, but I would just keep asking your doc questions..even if u feel like ur driving them nuts...it's their job. Then u can look up the info they give u. Good luck and baby dust!

They can cause multiples....and the porblems that come along with having multiples...such as tiny babies..
As for u...the problem would be ur the one carrying that many....u may need bes rest...
If u only get pregnant with one, theres not really any affect..
As far as the drug itself goes, it can have affects on u just as well as any other drug can....u just have to read the label and ask ur dr this one..

Depends on the type of fertility treatment. They would probably start you with Clomid and its rate of multiples is very low. I am on my third month of it and have had no problems.
