I want to finish school so bad, I only have a couple semesters to go, but in order to keep my benefits I need to be full time at work and for financial aid i need at least 12 credits at school.

The choice is yours. There are plenty of moms who do it. I did it as a single mom years ago and when I had my baby a few years ago, I went back to work 3 weeks later. Good luck. 2D

I feel your pain. I'm 8 months pregnant and finishing up my last semester in college and should graduate next week. being pregnant through this process has been absolute murder on myself and my husband. I'm not working though!

Look into your financial aid a little bit. I'm in texas and know the system very well. I know financial aid will cover as few as 3 or 6 credits here. You might be able to get some aid for less than fulltime - and you will definitely get the pell grant and other grants for being a mom.

If your system is pretty strict on full time for aid, online classes are the best thing. Libraries have internet access and computers if you don't.

I was going to go to grad school - they mandated fulltime enrollment and because of that I can't attend anymore. I wish I had some answers for you. You are going to need some help if you want to go to class and do homework. If you're finishing up your bachelor's, the senior level classes are intensive and require A LOT of time.

The best advice is if you can finish up online, but at your point in your degree, that might not be possible. Maybe try 1 class at a time, even without aid? A babysitter isn't that bad once a week for a couple of hours and you'd have the rest of the week to finish up your homework.

Its never easy but I salute you for giving it a shot. Don't give up on the degree, and keep going. The best thing you could do for your baby is getting your degree and getting a great job for the future. Don't delay if you don't have to. Talk to your financial aid advisor AND the scholarship office. There's a lot the system will cover when you have a baby.

Best Regards!

I work full time and go to school full time. I have a 3 year old boy and just had a little girl on Nov 25th. I guess I should say I'm on maternity leave from work for 6 weeks and next week is finals week so I will have some time with her before classes start again on Jan 7th. It's not as bad as it sounds but you really have to be self motivated. For example my schedule this last semester was that I went to class from 9-11 on mwf and then to work from 11:30 -9 m/w and 11:30-8 on friday. T/Th i had class from 8-9:15 then went to work from 10-5:30 and then to class from 6-9. I was able to work 40 hours and take 15 credits. I was still home to put my son to bed at night and my boyfriend worked during the day and then part time evenings so my dad watched my son until I got off work. I was also able to get him up and take him to daycare in the morning. We both had weekends off so that was nice. I found out I was pregnant in the 11th grade so its been like this for a while. I worked full time through the end of highschool as well. This upcoming semester will be a little more relaxing. I will be home at around 6 pm mwf and off weekends while still taking 13 credits. It's tiring but worth it. I'm finishing my 5th semester and am on schedule to actually graduate with a degree in finance in 4 - 4 1/2 years so I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I would say if it's something you really want then do it. Good luck.

If you feel up to it go for it! If it will provide a better life for your family you might as well. There is no need to wait till baby is one or two. I am due in May and graduate with my BA in May lol. I will be working full time within 3-4 months and then plan to go back to school full time ( I will then go to part time at work). Whatever you feel up to is what you need to do, good luck:)

You can get financial aid for part time - at least most schools offer that. I think a three month old and work would be hard enough but to add full time school - well something is gonna get the short shrift!!

Your baby is newborn only once...when they are 12 and snotty..you will miss the times when they were so young and cute...I'd say wait a little bit...a year or maybe 2.

12 credits is 3 or 4 classes...that means you'd go to school nightly til around 9 or 10pm, and probably have a saturday class as well.

I am planning on doing it. It will be horribly hard, but worth it. I want my baby to have a better life then I do, and the only way to do that is to finish my education and work hard at the same time.

Try to take online classes if you can, they are an amazing time saver, you can work on class work while feeding the baby, during nap time or play time, or whenever you have a minute.

You really need to choose. I don't think you can go to school full time and work full time and give your newborn the attention he needs. If you can't quit your job right now, then you will probably need to wait to go back to school. If you try to do both, you will have to make sacrifices. Taking care of a newborn shouldn't be a sacrifice. You will only have this time together once, you can always go back to school later. My mom went back to school after she had raised all 5 of her kids. It is never too late to go to school, but if you miss out on your baby, you'll always regret it.

Very tough. does your school have a day care so you can take your baby? I f you can put the baby in a carrier and take it with you it would be good. you need to bond with your baby. maybe get a job that you can work from home or have the infant near. do some housework for other people that will allow you to be close to your infant. Once those formative years are gone you can't get them back.

Can you take those classes online or at night? Look at all your options but make it work somehow. Finishing school would be the best thing you could do for your baby. Good luck!
