The Monster under the bed. It is not uncommon, you are not alone with this fear. It is common enough that children's books have been written about it.
It is a form of Bogyphobia or Clinophobia (fear of bogymen or fear of going to bed or beds). The exactness of the name will depend upon the underlying cause for your fear.

Everyone becomes afraid, it's nature picking it's flight or flight response. luckily this isn't a major fear.
Since you are already able to stand near your bed and imagine being grabbed you have already done half the work. Now all you need to do is stand near your bed or dangle your feet over the edge, and relax, try thinking other thoughts reading a book or even just yawning.
Even though it's not a major fear conquering this one will help you get over other fears, like walking into a lake, you never know how many monsters are swimming past your feet!

A neighbor of mine (a teen, naturally) hid under his 10-year-old brother's bed and waited patiently until he finally got into bed and turned out the lights, then reached up and grabbed his brother's chest. Let this be a warning to anyone with siblings.

No, I once got attacked by long arms when I was going to bed.
You have to be careful when you go to bed. Saying the right prayer before going to bed is also important. I once went to bed and started masterbating and something reached and grabbed my penis. So beware of your actions and Satan.
Feel free to email me on any questions.

No you're not "weird" per say, have you thought of getting a day bed? It's tall enough to see under it, even if you are close to it. ( if you don't use the dust ruffle) and that should help. You could also try sleeping on the floor ( it's what I do).

When I was a kid my GRandma used to tell me and my cousin that there were alligators under the bed to get us to stay in bed during our nap time. Sometimes when I am freaked out I run and jump into the bed so the alligators don't get me!

You're not alone ... in fact, that's a really common one!
You could get a platform bed. That way nothing can be under there.
